The Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan TD, today launched a public consultation on early years education, as part of a major review of early years qualifications.
The Minister is inviting submissions from all interested parties, including childcare practitioners, students, parents, education and training providers, employers in the sector, and anyone else with an interest in this area.
The Department of Education and Skills, is conducting this public consultation . This forms part of a major review of education and training programmes that lead to qualifications in early childhood care and education. The purpose of the review is to ensure that such education and training programmes provide childcare practitioners with appropriate competencies, knowledge and skills to support the educational development of children in early years services including full and part-time care, sessional services and child-minders.
