HARD-pressed parents will learn today of Government plans to save them €1,000 a year on childcare costs.
Children’s Minister Katherine Zappone will unveil the subsidy for kids aged six months to three years.
The Cabinet gave the go-ahead to the bill earlier this week. Childcare Committee Chairperson Jim Daly told the Irish Sun: ‘‘Hard-pressed middle income mums and dads struggling with childcare bills will receive the €1,000 per child from September.’’
Mr Daly, whose committee will be tasked with scrutinising the legislation for flaws, has also urged parents to ensure they sign up for the Government plan.
